Enactment Date is the date that the requirement to be a registered participant of the Practising Certificate scheme to act in statutory mining positions in Queensland becomes law.

Enactment Date has not yet been confirmed.  

This obligation will apply to all the following Competency and Notice holders, working in Queensland:

  • 1st Class Mine Manager (Coal)
  • 1st Class Mine Manager (Metalliferous)
  • 2nd Class Mine Manager (Coal)
  • Deputy
  • Open Cut Examiner
  • Ventilation Officers
  • Site Senior Executive (Coal)
  • Site Senior Executive (Metalliferous) – Surface, greater than 20 persons
  • Site Senior Executive (Metalliferous) – Underground

Registered participants will hold a single Practising Certificate for all competencies held.

Registration occurring at any time prior to the Enactment Date will not incur an initial Registration Fee.

Registered participants can start acquiring credit for learning hours (up to one years’ worth) as soon as their registration is confirmed.  Early learning hours will be rolled over into their first 5-year Certificate period once the Enactment Date is reached.
